Hey Indiana-49 Other States Are Laughing At You

As I continue on my health education I have been reading a bunch of stuff.  I came across this "interesting" article on wayne.com.  The theory of the article was they were going to disprove 5 common myths about men losing weight.  The thing is it seems like a completely made up list that they are exposing.  Perhaps the only one that I think is reasonable is myth 2.

Myth 2: Low-fat or low-carb automatically means healthier.

The argument from me is they did not disprove that at all.  By that logic I would like to just announce that I am not fat.  Whoa this is easier than I thought it would be.  I am not going to go over each of the others because you people are smart and will know why they are stupid.  I am not sure why this bothers me but it does.  Nice Job Indiana.

Today was a great day for me.  I did a nice job on the food eating and I began drinking a ton of water again.  No soda.  It is a rule after all.  My brothers dog Vincent and I went for a walk and I did a bunch of other exercise.  The back hurts but I will live.  I wonder how the exercise will influence my success this week?  I decided that I want to take some kind of martial art way down the line when I have lost a lot of this poundage.  That and perhaps biking will be the two ways I maintain.  Holy cow, I am becoming a planner.

Going All MacGyver On This Thing

I have been somewhat inspired by all of the fat loss TV shows.  I decided to figure out some things I can do right inside the apartment in terms of working out.  Things that I can do with the bad back.  The first thing was just simple leg curls.  No weight, just on my stomach curling my legs one at a time.  At first this felt useless and a waste of time.  When I got to about 50 I could feel I was actually doing something.  By the end of a set of 100 it was obvious it was at least something.  I am going to do this once each hour for the day to see how it goes.

Next step I found some old dumbbells my little brother uses.  I did 3 set's of ten with each arm curling and then straight pressing them on my back.  They weights are 20 pounds each.  I think I might have gotten close on my guess of how many reps as the last few were a struggle.

The final thing I am doing in this "workout" are these pushup like things against the wall.  I seen them on TV.  I did 100 of them.  Not sure how valuable these are but it was some work so it can't be all bad.

My back is pretty agitated right now.  On the other hand it does not feel like I injured it anymore so that is good.  It will be interesting to see how it is in the morning.  I plan to do this whole trick again tomorrow.

Results

I just got off the scale and I lost 5 pounds this week.  Considering I still was not all that active during the week I am very happy with the results.  Looking back on the week I did not always eat really healthy food but I did not do anything real crazy either.  The portions were right at every single meal.  I think that is probably most important to lose right now.   No fast food at all.  Their were three time when the thought crossed my mind and I needed to talk myself out of it.  One time was real serious when I almost went over to the bad side and gave in.  What is odd is I was not even all that hungry at the time.  The thought just got in my head.  Glad I made the right choice as I would have been very angry had I given in.  I suppose their is one thing I did that constitutes cheating.  I did drink some diet soda.  I made the rules.  I cheated.  I am going to try to not do that at all this week.  You hear talk of addiction in regard to very fat people.  I have never considered it to be that.  These instances offer me some proof that it is.  Hi my name is Clint and I am a double cheesburgeraholic........."Hi Clint!!!"

Ok.  Off to another step in the right direction.
