Two and a half weeks into my strict diet rules I consider myself weened off of fast food. No thoughts about big macs and whoppers and the like. Things are going well. I feel very confident that if someone went fishing for me and the bait was a big mac they would not catch me.
I did not crave fast food at all.
That was until three days ago. I was watching the Milwaukee Brewers game and Cousin's Subs decided they were going to advertise. A new "summertime" sub. Pulled pork with coleslaw slammed on top of it. The perfect combination of yummy and stupid. Exactly what I enjoy in my bad/good/bad food. It is the kind of delicious that a guy like me would happily throw on the swimsuit and dive into. To be clear about my past their is no way in the world I make the effort to go all that way and buy one. At the minimum I would buy two. One to eat immediately and one for the pocket.
I am happy to say I have been able to beat the urge. It isn't real surprising to me considering how I have accepted my lifestyle change in my own head. It just means something to me that I have come this far. Surely everything is not perfect but I am moving in the correct direction.
The last four days have gone well. It is good news considering I was away from my norm and I needed to make decisions about what I eat in the real world. My exercise has been down as my back has been real bad but I have still been doing some little things. At least enough to qualify under my rules. My next project I have lined up is to learn how to cook fish in a healthy way. Chicken is already my bitch, time to move on to a new species.
Have a sweet day.
